    Ainée de 5 enfants. A perdu sa mère à  l'âge de 7 ans. Fut adoptée par une famille amie qui la garda deux ans puis la plaça chez nos orphelines à  la maison mère. De là , elle passa à  notre école S.-Joseph de la rue Cathédrale où de 1911 à  1915 elle fit son cours ménager après quoi elle entra à  notre noviciat.

    Avait 5 ans quand sa famille vint se fixer au Canada. Mais après la mort de sa mère le père retourna aux Etats-Unis où il contracta un second mariage pendant que Rose-Alma était novice. Eut 4 enfants de cette nouvelle union; la belle-mère est considérée à  l'égal d'une mère par les enfants du premier lit et Sr Boucher affirme qu'il n'y a aucune différence entre frères et demi-frères: tous sont demeurés très unis. Son père est né et a été élevé aux Etats-Unis; mais sa mère était une québécoise.

    GLORIA M. BUSHEY, 83, formerly of Sailly Avenue and most recently of the Samuel S. Vilas Home, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

    She was born in Malone March 25, 1925, daughter of the late Joseph Samuel and Dora Josephine (Riley) Bushey.

    Arrangements are incomplete and have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Rome, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh. A memorial service will be held at a date and time to be announced.

    PLATTSBURGH -- Gloria M. Bushey, 83, formerly of Sailly Avenue and most recently of the Samuel S. Vilas Home, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Malone March 25, 1925, daughter of the late Joseph Samuel and Dora Josephine (Riley) Bushey.

    Gloria was very involved in Academia; she had been employed by SUNY Plattsburgh for many years. She was active in local community arts, belonging to Community Choral. The highlight of her life was sailing through the Florida Keys with her close friends. Gloria was an animal lover, being especially fond of cats. She was an avid reader and played the piano. Gloria enjoyed her family, especially the visits from her nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was a very giving person.

    Gloria is survived by her sister, Shirley M. Faubert of Elizabethtown; and several nieces and nephews.

    A memorial service will be held Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at 1 p.m. from Brown Funeral Home Chapel, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, N.Y. Burial will be in St. John Bosco Cemetery in Malone, N.Y.

    Donations in Gloria's memory may be made to Alzheimer's Research at SUNY Plattsburgh, 101 Broad St., Sibley Hall 227, Plattsburgh, NY 12901.

    Aujourd'hui, ce samedi 31 juillet, nous avons mis en terre les cendres de papa. Toute la famille y était, ses enfants, ses petits enfants et ses deux arrière petits fils Alexandre et Jonathan. Il pleuvait "à  boire debout". Jean a été chercher les cendres ce matin. Il m'a donné la boite pour que je la mette en terre. À cause de la pluie, la petite fosse était à  moitié remplie d'eau mais on s'est dit que lorqu'il était plombier, il est descendu plus d'une fois dans un trou partiellement inondé pour faire une réparation.
    Toute la famille a passé la journée ensemble, lunch à  un resto de St-Constant, l'après-midi chez Serge suivi d'un BBQ pour le souper. Nous avons bien pensé à  Gérard et à  Agnès.
